Legal Counsel
LegalRemote
We’re expanding our Legal team and looking for a lawyer to support Aviasales’ commercial business areas. Most of the work will involve revenue-generating agreements: you’ll draft and negotiate contracts, dig into commercial terms, and work with the business to find solutions that work for everyone involved.
Most of our contract work is based on templates, but the terms of each deal can vary. That’s why we’re looking for someone who can go beyond the wording of a contract, understand the context behind a deal, independently gather missing information, and work with different teams across the company.
What you'll be doing:
- independently draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and amendments;
- work with agency arrangements, licensing agreements, and other types of commercial contracts;
- review and respond to counterparties’ comments and proposed changes, and manage contracts through to final approval;
- conduct counterparty due diligence and assess legal risks before contracts are signed;
- work with Finance, Tax, Commercial, Product, and other teams: independently gather the information you need and take it into account when drafting and reviewing contracts;
- work with contracts and legal documents in English and navigate the specifics of different foreign jurisdictions;
- contribute to the automation of contract workflows: update and tag templates and work with Legal Ops to move documents and processes from manual to automated workflows.
What we expect from you:
- 3+ years of experience as a lawyer working with commercial contracts, from drafting and reviewing documents to negotiating terms with counterparties;
- ability to understand not only the legal side of a contract but also the business context behind a deal, and propose solutions that take different stakeholders’ interests into account;
- experience working cross-functionally and confidence communicating independently with Finance, Tax, Commercial, and other teams;
- basic understanding of personal data regulations;
- ability to work independently: finding the right people and information, asking the right questions, and moving tasks forward without constant supervision;
- English at a level sufficient to work with English-language contracts and legal documents;
- strong attention to detail and a habit of double-checking your work.
How we work:
- work from anywhere in the world: no location restrictions, salary paid in USD, travel-loving culture;
- no bureaucracy: efficient processes, horizontal and open communication, quick idea discussion and decision-making;
- benefits compensation: private medical insurance, psychotherapy or language courses, sports activities, and sick leave.
